Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) about Dental Implants
How long do dental implants last?
Dental Implants are designed to be permanent but many factors contribute to long term success. The success rate is influenced, but not limited to, several factors including implants bonding to the jawbone, being a non-smoker, excellent oral hygiene habits and maintaining regular check-ups and cleanings with your Fairfax Dentist
Will I have to be without teeth?
No. Immediately following the placement of the dental implants you may wear your denture comfortably until the final teeth are placed. If you don't have a denture, your dentist can make a temporary replacement. The healing process takes about 2 months depending on how your jawbone accepts the implant. Once the surgeon or periodontist evaluates the stability of the implant, your Fairfax Implant Dentist takes an impression and selects a shade for the crown that will match your other teeth. Your Fairfax Cosmetic Dentist will then attach the crown to the implant.
